Knocked off early this afternoon and went for a late hike in the Columbia River Gorge with an old friend.
Andy taught me the job I do now. A little over a year ago, he moved to the Florida Keys, and then to the Virgin Islands, where he eventually got a job teaching windsurfing. He’s spent a lot of time reading, reflecting on life and living in a tent in a place many would call paradise. He seems much more relaxed, and a bit wiser now.
Windsurfing taught Andy that:
“Once you think you’re starting to get good at something, shut up. There’s a lot more to learn, and man or nature will remind you of that sooner or later.”
I agree with you….. there is always an unfinished business in every finished work of life.
